Tonight is my big night of my author/book release party. I'm so excited. It will be good to see all my good friends come out and support me. I'm keeping the event pretty small, I wanted to be able to have time for people and didn't want to feel overwhelmed and have people feel like they didn't get enough of my time. Sometimes it's hard being the guest of honor.
One thing to keep your guest list to a minimum is have a no-host event where everyone is responsible for their own tab. Right now I'm still on the list with the rest of the "starving artists" out there. I don't have much of a budget to go "all out". One nice thing about having a small gathering is that it keeps it real. No phonies there to blow b.s. in your face just because you hare having free food and drink. Everyone is your best friend when you are picking up the tab.

It is so true. I know what you mean. Especially about everyone to become a friend once you treat. To keep an event pretty small is a way out, a good idea truly because no one will appreciate it big but it will cost a fortune. Unless, of course, you have a huge number of true friends and it is impossible not to invite them over. Especially when it comes to something really important for you. Otherwise, there would not be such a noise about it. Congratulations with the book release!
